Cryonite’s patented nozzle design converts liquid carbon dioxide into particles of dry ice. The dry ice emerges from the lance at -78°C (-110°F) and kills pests on contact. Pests cannot build up a resistance to such treatments since no chemicals are involved.

Cryonite is an alternative to insecticide and chemical-based pest control solutions. This technology is non-toxic and effective. The method consists of spraying frozen (-110 °F) liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) to kill insects. The frozen CO2 freezes insects to death and leaves no residue. Because Cryonite contains zero chemicals, pests will not develop a resistance to the treatment.
The most common insects susceptible to Cryonite are roaches, bed bugs, and stored product pests. Some companies have also used Cryonite in their stinging insect protocol. Since the cold snow expelled by the Cryonite applicator is lethal to many insects, it has many potential applications on sensitive accounts and unusual items.
Cryonite will kill most insects. The “snow” expelled by the Cryonite wand is -110 degrees Fahrenheit, killing the vast majority of small and medium-bodied pests on contact. Some larger-bodied insects may survive the blast of snow, particularly if they are harboring in an area that prevents direct contact. In these cases, Cryonite will typically flush and damage the insect, after which they can easily be removed with a vacuum.
There is no license required to operate Cryonite machinery. Any person who uses the Cryonite equipment should receive training using this manual and other Cryonite training materials before using Cryonite in the field. Typical pesticide regulations should not apply to Cryonite; however, consult your state’s regulations to be certain you remain in compliance.
Nests of the yellowjacket were treated with Cryonite applied using low pressure for 30 seconds, then the pressure was gradually increased. All the wasps within the nests were eliminated, and the nests are safely removed and destroyed.
Successful tests have been completed to eliminate German Cockroaches, Blattella germanica, in factories, houses, and hospitals using Cryonite in combination with diatomaceous earth, a vacuum, and traps.
A bread oven infested with sawtoothed grain beetles, Oryzaephilus surinamensis, and cigarette beetles, Lasioderma serricorne, were treated with Cryonite. The insects were located in lumps of bread crumbs underneath the oven. The test resulted in a significant reduction in beetles despite new raw material continuously flowing through the factory.
A field study was conducted to assess the efficacy of a combined Cryonite/diatomaceous earth treatment against bed bugs infesting a hotel room. Each item of furniture or area found to be infested was treated with two slow passes of the Cryonite application Lance. No live bed bugs were discovered during follow-up inspections at one day and one week following the Cryonite/diatomaceous earth treatment.
